The Evil Evil Skunks

We are absolutely going insane here. The smell is killing us. The fact that they are here is beyond me, I’m going insane!

So, living in suburbs and all is fine, we all knew there will be some animals going around. Like for instance we do deal with the raccoons very often and they really annoy me a lot.

Last year we had a family of squirrels living in our attic which was like a train above our heads. We got rid of them thank goodness.

But now we are dealing with skunks.

For a while now we have noticed the smell. Some evenings it’s more intense than others. It mostly stinks in the living room, but if heat is on (and with this winter and all) it will take it all over the house.

It is unbearable, it is awful, and did I mention I hate them!

So, we thought that skunk (s) may be passing next to the house, they would spray and all. But, man were we wrong!!!

Apparently those awful creatures have taken residence under our house. (CAN I MOVE PLEASE) I have a feeling there are million of them.

Last night Hubby comes to the living room and asks me is there a bird in the house or something that is chirping??? I’m like no, why?

And than we heard the source. There is a hallway closet next to the living room, I keep my vacuum there and stuff for cleaning floors…The squeaking came from under the floor…so much…so many of them.

Than it happened, they started spraying and the entire house smelled as…well a skunk!

I don’t know what to do…we called for help, and they are coming tomorrow hopefully to take them out and do something to keep them out.

Sorry Pepe Le Pew, I use to love your cartoon, but after this smell and the uninvited friends of yours I’m just mad.

Those things go everywhere, and can spread so many things. Last thing I want is for them to find their way into the house. And they are so close!

Apparently, skunks are really good at digging. They have some large front claws, but cannot climb. I’ve done some research on the google and found out some interesting things, and also all of the awful stuff they can pass onto pets and people.

But in all this there is one thing I don’t understand! Why, oh why on earth would anyone have a skunk for a pet???

The pictures I’ve found and have seen UGH…

Why would anyone let their kids play with skunks?

I don’t get it!.

I can’t wait for tomorrow to have this mess all cleaned out. This smell is so intense, and drives me mad (I know I’ve told you that before).

Tell me: What do you think of pet skunks? Would you ever have one?

Oh I’m going really nuts here :(
Yea, can you imagine, apparently they are very popular as “smart” and “friendly” OMG can anyone take them LOL
I’ve seen pictures of kids playing with them, kissing UGH…that can’t be healthy in my opinion!!!

  3. Oh my goodness! How did they get the smell out? Hope it’s coming up roses soon!!

Well, the smell is “still” there kind of. It takes many many Lysol disinfectant sprays and many air fresheners LOL. They were suppose to come today and chase them out, and than that the hole or whatever can be fixed, but guess what NO ONE CAME…I have no clue what to do. Hopefully tomorrow they’ll come and check if they are still there or maybe we scared them off (Lets hope) and they left so that we can fix that hole they are snicking in trough.
The smell is better doing the day, well windows are almost always open, but doing the night it gets so bad.
And with so many windows open for such a long time, this will definitely drive our gas bill trough the roof!
