I love the smell of pumpkin bread. Actually, when I think about it some of my favorite recipes are made with pumpkins. And one thing I like about baking with pumpkins is that you don’t really have to focus your recipes just around holidays. I love to take it year round and enjoy that warm feeling of sharing something special with your loved ones. Halloween Pumpkin Spice Cake Ingredients: 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter (softened)   1 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar   1 cup sugar 3 large eggs   1 cup pumpkin puree 1/2 cup buttermilk 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract   2 cups all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon   1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon fresh-ground nutmeg whipped cream frosting Directions: Prepare cake pans. It’s time to enjoy pumpkins. And what better way than to make a yummy pumpkin soup for your family. The color is so beautiful! Pumpkin Soup Ingredients: 2 green onions (sliced)   1 tablespoon butter   1 cup canned pumpkin   1 tablespoon flour 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger 1/4 teaspoon turmeric   1 cup milk 1/2 quart chicken broth parsley Directions: Saute the onions in butter and stir in pumpkin.
