I Have Had It

I’ll admit I’m not the most patient person in the world, but again not many things can drive me crazy. OK prank phone calls and telemarketers they really drive me nuts. And to add to them and the stress you can easily put in the same pile me being on hold for an hour.

I hate when I call someone (companies, utilities and such) and they place me on hold and never answer. Last week it was doctors office…I was on the hold for almost an hour and than they told me to call the next day…come on.

But today what drove me to the edge of my sanity was our gas company and their automated system. That damn thing just couldn’t understand anything. You would have to be a machine to speak to that machine.

See when gas problems occur obviously that people in the area will get upset, scared and stressed out. So it would be nice to have the machine tell you what is going on instead of asking you stupid questions and when you clearly tell the machine it should connect you to the right place not make you pull your hair out and wish to throw the phone as far as possible…

And in the end, well of course I had no clue what was going on since the machine connected me to all but what I needed. In the end I’ve got “Oh the problem is fixed” OK now please could you connect me to someone who can give me back 2 hours of my life or at least reimburse me for my nerve loss! I would really appreciate it, but for the love of God don’t connect me back to that machine…or put me on hold!

I feel you…I had to purchase a headset so I could deal with my PHONE company!! Every problem caused at least a two hour phone fiasco and my shoulders and arms just couldn’t take it anymore. I would either get a person with a thick accent whom I couldn’t understand or the person spoke well enough but couldn’t get what I was trying to tell them. Even the native English speakers couldn’t get a simple correction made. Now I ask for a supervisor right away when my bill is screwed up and that seems to help. I’ve never talked to so many incompetently trained people in my life!

OK – I’m off the soapbox now. Can u tell u hit a nerve?

Hang in there! (And get a headset – it helps until the phone battery gives out!)

Yeah, but what irritates me more than that is when you called gets transfered to someplace like India and you cannot for life of you understand a word the person is saying.

That drives me batty! I get a crick in my neck from propping up the phone whilst trying to get something accomplished in the meantime.
