Fitting Room Secrets

Last month I’ve received a copy of “Fitness” magazine and while reading trough came across something interesting. Well, I sure recognized myself in the poll that was done on 1,001 woman poll.

They were trying to see how women really feel about trying on the clothes, their size, what would they change…

So here is the skinny on the poll:

-21% of women have lied about their size.

-64% of women say trying on clothes in public lowers their self confidence.

-15% of women have accidentally ripped or gotten stuck in a garment that was too small.

-4 in 10 women have bought something that was too small, hoping it would look good once they lost weight.

-6 in 10 women confess to still owning jeans that no longer fit but “might someday”. (NOW THIS IS ME DEFINITELY LOL)

-14% of women have refused sales help so they wouldn’t have to reveal their size.

-41% have started working out after a shopping trip.

-20% were motivated enough to stick with their workouts.

-At Home Runway…76% of women try on just one outfit in the morning, 17% average two outfits, and 8% test even more.

-Going shopping…61% prefer going solo, 17% with friends, 10% with a guy, and 8% prefer going out with anyone else than just alone.

-Behind closed doors…what women really do in dressing rooms… 15% calling friends for shopping advice, 10% crying about the way they look, 5% flexing muscles…(wasn’t this a guy thing LOL), 4% getting totally naked for the 360, 3% taking cell phone pix of themselves, and 2% claim of having sex there…(OK )

-What do women want in the stores… 39% wish that stores would arrange clothes by body type not only by size…(oh come on ladies…who wants to shop in the “pear” department), 53% would like clearer size labeling, 28% would like style advice of an outside fashion expert (What Not to Wear…anyone…), 21% want stores to offer complimentary personal shoppers.

-Did you know that 59% of women would never try on clothes in a communal dressing room.

-21% head straight to the register and try the clothes at home.

-31% say they keep they eyes to themselves while trying clothes in dressing rooms….where 11% admit they size up other bodies.

-Women feel towards their weight…36% the feel of their clothes, 24% whether they feel good physically, 20% whether they feel good emotionally, 14% the number on the scale.

-1 in 20 women purposely shops at stores where the labels say she’s a smaller size :)

-88% of women admit that trip to the clothing store had them reevaluate their body.

-What would they most like to tone?… 42% their waist, 23% legs and hips, 10% their rear, 10% chest, and 4% their arms.

-1 in 14 women has skipped a workout because she didn’t like her outfit…(GOOD EXCUSE, I NEED TO START USING THIS ONE MORE OFTEN LOL)

So ladies, what do you think? Are they right or are they wrong?

Give me your feedback, I would love to see what are your opinions on the subject…

For me I found myself LOL in more than one line… :)
