Have you asked her if the sound is too loud for her? And four is definitely a fine age! all my kids started potty training at 2, so by four they are able to wipe on their own just fine... LOL! But, I think we all go through this. I even go through it with my daycare kids. What I do is this...I make them come back into the bathroom and flush and remind them that I don't want to see their poo! LOL! Sometimes it takes a while to get it...but they eventually do!
